Many leaders have suggested that the Chapel does not find out why the ban was at place

Other black church members think giving an apology would be a detriment to church work and a catalyst to further racial misunderstanding. African-American church member Bryan E. Powell says, There is no pleasure in old news, and this news is old. Gladys Newkirk agrees, stating, I’ve never experienced any problems in this church. I don’t need an apology. . . . We’re the result of an apology. The large majority of black Mormons say they are willing to look beyond the previous teachings and remain with the church in part because of its powerful, detailed teachings on life after death.

Earlier church market leaders should be seen as products with their times, you can forget racist than most of their particular American and Christian colleagues

Past chapel leaders should be viewed as goods of their instances, no more racist than most of their American and Christian peers (and often astonishingly enlightened, given the surrounding culture). A proper understanding of the process of revelation creates a more realistic expectations of the Latter-day Saint telepathist, instead of presumptions of infallibility foisted around the Saints by way of a critics.

Earlier statements and scriptural interpretations that are not anymore in balance with current revelation should be discarded.
